Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS Indiana) is a nonprofit agency providing critical early intervention services to Indiana's infants and toddlers who are blind or visually impaired and support to their families. They host a tactile art show called reVISION in Indianapolis every year. reVISION is a unique and interactive exhibition of works by Indiana artists who are challenged to explore their art through the eyes of the visually impaired. reVISION transforms the traditional “do not touch” gallery presentation into a tactile, auditory, olfactory and spatial experience that promotes accessibility and inclusion for all art patrons. Curated for people who are blind or visually impaired but open to all, it is a show where touching the art is not only allowed but it is encouraged. reVISION has morphed into both a service to the community and a major fundraiser for the nonprofit. But how do you host a tactile art show during a pandemic? You get creative. While there will be no show that is open to the public to touch and explore--VIPS still needs our help! They've created an accessible and interactive website that showcases each piece that is for sale and 50% of the purchase price of each professional artist's piece goes back to VIPS! This is a great opportunity to spruce up your home or office with artwork by an Indiana artist and support this nonprofit that is doing incredible work in the community.
