About

A very unique spot on the Upper East Side – entirely devoted to dementia care - The 80th Street Residence caters to yesterday's Executives, Politicians, Artists, Educators and World Travelers. They are our Husbands, Wives, Mothers, Fathers and Friends, whose lifestyles and love of New York City continue to thrive here at 80th Street.
Our intimate boutique-like Residence is a tribute to the tremendous thought and caring that allowed us to create a place that truly feels like home rather than one that just looks like home. We staff each of our floors around the clock so that there is no need to be concerned for those who tend to be up at night. Our Care Managers are always nearby to check, assist or perhaps even share a nice cup of Chamomile Tea and late night snack with them. And of course, if more of a helping hand is needed at that or any other time, our nurse is always onsite to assist.

All of us look forward to sharing our unique neighborhood gem with you, as we believe it to be the best possible alternative for someone no longer able to live at home. We are ready to help when you are ready to call…

A huge thank you to New York Therapy Animals and their teams for coming to visit through the window on such a beautiful day!The visits brought endless smiles to not only the Residents and staff but also the pet therapy teams since they have not been able to go into facilities for months. As one team explained, “The moment we put her scarf on she was ready to go and see her friends! We’ve missed it so much!” Thank you to our neighbors for making our day and staying NYC strong with us!

Last week, The 80th Street Residence participated in this year’s CaringKind - The Heart of Alzheimer's Caregiving annual Alzheimer’s Walk. As this year’s event was virtual, our Residents were able to plan their own special event in an effort to raise funds for CaringKind’s event. Our partners, Inspired Memory Care, our Residents and our Walk Team Members put together an extraordinary event, none of which would have been possible without the support of the NYPD who helped us create a safe space for the walk. A special thanks to Samantha Sullivan and Case Sullivan for capturing the magic of our day! https://vimeo.com/465580837 VIMEO.COM The 80th Street Residence's CaringKind Virtual Alzheimer’s Walk 2020
Yesterday we celebrated World Teachers Day by writing thank you cards to teachers in our neighborhood and community. We loved remincising about our our own school stories, specifically, N.Z who spoke about teaching at the Fashion Insitute of New York. Our favorite quote for the day was: “It takes a big heart to shape little minds.” ❤️

Today we walked for those we love, our favorite foods, our wishes and dreams, and much more. This was our way of raising awareness and fundraising for CaringKind - The Heart of Alzheimer's Caregiving yearly walk. Even with our masks and social distance the smiles and sense of comradery was endless. The Residents chose the theme, created signs stating what “they care about”, voted on balloons, and the Van Leeuwen Ice Cream truck! Our virtual music therapists even made an appearance, singing our Residents favorite songs as they enjoyed their ice cream. Thank you to everyone for creating such a lovely day Inspired Memory Care!

That 80th Street vibe 🤙🏼😎 Inspired Memory Care January 6 at 10:00 AM · What's cooler than an "Influencer?" An Icon. EK has been rocking his iconic salmon pants long enough to inspire several of our 80th Street Residence teammates with his look. We paired our "shades of salmon" with ugly holiday sweaters to get into the holiday spirit, and he honored us with a photo shoot. Thanks for always showing your cool, EK.
