83 ½ is best described as a labor of love. A love of family, friends and most importantly, food. Owner Vincenzo Mangiafridda, a twenty-year restaurant veteran of the Upper East Side, wanted to open a restaurant that spoke to his deep Sicilian roots. He sought a balance between the old and new worlds, a combination of classic Italian cuisine and modern presentation. In 83 1/2, his vision has become reality. Chef Will Foden, a rising star from one of Boston’s finest eateries, has created a seasonal menu of memorable Sicilian-influenced dishes including silky pastas, inventive stuzzicare, and delicious entrees. Wine director Jean-Luc Le Du compliments the cuisine with a striking array of wines known as much for their quality and integrity as their luminous bouquets.
Above all, it’s Vincenzo’s love of people that makes 83 ½ what it is: a warm, welcoming place where friends and families share their passion for food and familiar faces. We can’t wait for your family to meet ours.
