When swapping out to performance tires, make a few adjustments to the alignment as well, and you will notice a difference in both power and handling. Shorter tires and straight-ahead alignment (as opposed to the standard toe-in configuration) will increase acceleration.
If you notice fast idling on your engine, and it won’t idle down to a normal level, the solenoids on the carburetor may be malfunctioning or may simply need adjustment. The carburetor may also need to be disassembled to remove trapped dirt or contaminants.
