Saw cutting 3/4" wide x 3" deep joints
Access for the wire saw was not ideal. We had to use pulleys to re-direct the wire from the vertical cut, around structure and to the saw.
Last post, we core drilled the wire access hole. This photo is showing the diamond wire when it had started the cut. Look close and you will see the dotted line; that is the diamond wire cutting the concrete.
In this scene, we are core drilling a hole about 2" from the edge of the wall for a diamond wire to be fed through it. We will be making a 12 foot vertical cut with that wire in concrete that varied in thickness up to 4 feet thick. Watch for the next post.
Electric slab sawing can be done indoors where gas/diesel saws are dangerous.

Core drilling 12 foot deep holes with auto-feed drills. The template we are set upon was built by our shop. It is a "hot-tap" to prevent the pressurized water under the lock from spraying upon the electric drill once it punches through the bottom of the concrete. The ground water under the lock is pressurized due to our working 30+ feet below the water's level.
No two cutting or coring projects are the same, so we tailor the team, the tools and the strategy to match each customer's unique needs. This hole is being drilled into a 2 foot thick wall but set up to drill at an angle inward to the wall and downward toward the slab. The hole ended up being about 4 feet deep to meet the architect's plan.
