A.P. Mynders & Associates have been in hearing care for more than 70 years now. We became the first digital Hearing Aid Centers in 1987. Our founders A.P. and Eugenia Mynders started the practice before World War II working with ear, nose and throat doctors to provide advanced testing and fitting services. The Mynders worked to bring greater attention to hearing loss solutions through the community and governmental agencies as well as in their practice. Correction of hearing loss and controlling noise pollution were the early projects. A.P. Mynders worked on Better Hearing Month with several Philadelphia mayors. Both A.P. and Eugenia initiated local and national credentialing projects for hearing aid clinicians which became reality. A.P. Mynders as President of the National Hearing Society founded a Children's Hearing Aid Bank, a charity for needy children. Hearing care of the highest standard was their life long commitment. Their son, Joel M. Mynders, joined the practice in 1964 to continue the groundwork laid by his parents practice. He attended Temple University for training in Audiology. Joel has continuously, to the present, attended advanced clinical training programs on applied amplification for hearing problems. He was one of the first Board Certified Hearing Aid Specialists in the country. His clinical publications now number more than 70 journal articles and chapters in text books. His lectures and seminars on hearing aid care have been given locally, nationally and internationally. A.P. Mynders & Associates practice today reflects the same professionalism of its founders and current president. The goal remains excellence in hearing care for patients in the Metro Philadelphia area.
