Dr. Dimitry Likterev was born in Kiev, Ukraine and moved to United States as a child. He grew up in Milwaukee, attended High school there and went on to University of Wisconsin for his undergraduate studies. He then went on to National University of Health Sciences, receiving his Bachelors of Human Biology, and then Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University.
Dr. Likterev developed his interest in Chiropractic medicine while in college, when he was treated by a chiropractor for a motorcycle injury. Dr. Likterev’s interest in natural medicines and sports rehab also included extensive studies of neurology, acupuncture and Kinesio Taping, in which he is certified and is member of k.t.a.i. He is also certified and practices manipulation under anesthesia. In addition, Dr. Likterev uses latest treatment and assessment tools available, such as Flexion-Distraction tables and Foot Levelers orthotic supports.
Dr. Likterev has volunteered and worked as sports chiropractor at numerous sports events, including World Swimming Championship in Goteberg, Sweden. There, his athlete, Vlad Pyshnenko took all three (50m, 100m, 200m free) gold medals for the events he has participated in.
Today, after many years in practice, Dr. Likterev continues to read, take seminars and pursue clinical excellence by keeping up with any information that might be helpful to his patients.
