When you enter a community setting, keep the 3 W’s in mind: Wash your hands. Watch your distance (stay 6 feet apart from others who do not live in your household). Wear a mask. If you remember and use these three behaviors, you can help protect yourself and your loved ones during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Excellent reminder from the CDC on removing your mask.

September 16 at 11:00 AM ·
Wear a mask when you’re in public to help slow the spread of COVID-19. When removing your mask, handle only the ear loops or ties, and fold the outside corners together to keep it clean. Be careful not to touch your eyes, nose, or mouth, and always wash your hands after removing.

Have a Fun yet safe Holiday Weekend.

Celebrate the Holiday Weekend Safely
With a 3-day weekend coming up, start thinking of some ways to enjoy the time off safely. Stay home and watch a movie with your “Crush COVID crew” – or do a virtual pumpkin carving event this year if you want to enjoy a larger group of friends. Outdoor activities like corn mazes, hay rides, farm tours, and pumpkin or apple picking with your small, consistent group can be enjoyed safely – with masks and distancing. If you have symptoms, stay home and stay away from others. See the “Rhody Rules” for Fall Fun at bit.ly/fall-fun-tips and bit.ly/30yq3Ey.
Visite https://health.ri.gov/otherlanguages/spanish/publications/guidelines/covid-tips-for-a-safer-halloween.pdf.

Treatment for COVID-19 is available and can be very effective if you get it early enough when you’re sick. If you’re having trouble breathing, ongoing pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, an inability to wake or stay awake, or bluish lips or face, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital right away. Tell them you have COVID-19. Call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.

Vaccine's explained: An mRNA vaccine is a vaccine that uses messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) to build a protein that will trigger an immune response. These vaccines give our cells instructions to make a harmless part of the COVID-19 virus—specifically, a protein on the virus’s surface. Our cells recognize the newly created protein as foreign. This triggers an immune response. In the process, our cells are learning how to protect against COVID-19 infection and provide immunity. If we use all the tools we have, we stand the best chance of getting our families, communities, schools, and workplaces “back to normal” sooner:
• Get vaccinated.
• Stay 6 feet from others, and avoid crowds.
• Wear a mask.
• Wash hands often.
