The FBI recently issued a PSA to inform teleworkers of the risks of using hotel Wi-Fi networks (*link in comments*).
Guests seeking the appeal of a quiet, distraction-free work environment on an unsecured Wi-Fi connection for #telework risk security threats such as compromising work and personal data.
Cybercriminals use an “evil twin attack” method, where they'll masquerade as the hotel’s network to steal private data or take over a guest's device and gather sensitive information, such as names and credit card information.
Following good cyber security practices can minimize some of the risks associated with using hotel Wi-Fi for telework.

A company hired a security analyst to help them manage their firewall.
The security expert would analyze performance and adjust the rules that governed what traffic was allowed through the firewall into the network.
Despite his efforts, there was still a lot of unwanted activity getting through.
He was stunned...until he discovered that someone at the company was changing the rules right after the analyst made changes.
Why? To make it easier for the company executives to get to their files.
So the analyst’s work to secure the network was negated and they had no idea.
