Today's funny bumper sticker: "Sorry for driving so close in front of you." :) Have a safe Monday!
Ha!
Smile (and put the top down!) it's FRIDAY! :) Have a great weekend!
We have a bright idea for #TBT as we travel back to the 1880's and the first headlights, which were candles and oil lamps and had to be constantly relit, pretty much the opposite of today's auto on and off halogen/LED lamps. (Electric lights lit the way starting around 1900.) Have you ever been ticketed for having your high beams on, one light out or no lights because you forgot to switch them on? (Darn those manual lights!)
Which one you camping in? Orange, Red or Yellow?
Saw this...had to share.
For today's #TBT, we crank up the tunes in our 1901 Thornycroft steam-powered wagon, into which radio pioneer Guglielmo Marconi installed the first official car "radio," which was actually a telegraph machine. What song do you love to sing along with as you are driving?

Today's funny bumper sticker: "I don't know how to act my age. I've never been there before." :) Have a safe Monday!

Should you trade in your car after 3 years or keep it for 10 years? The average age of cars on U.S. roads is nearly 12 years, and most research shows that you will save money if you stay in and take care of your current vehicle, including following the manufacturer's required maintenance intervals. Take care of your ride and it will take care of you!

We navigate back to 1991 and the Isuzu Nagisa, as part of our continuing #TBT series on the strangest (dumbest?) concept cars. The "high end" concept was to slip a set of wheels on a cabin cruiser. The idea of an amphibious car (first attempted in the 1960's) quickly sunk, with plenty of jokes about "Is that car flooded?"
Is it becoming harder to see when you are driving at night? Before you have your eyes checked, have your headlights checked. Over time, the plastic coating on headlights can become so clouded or yellowed that they give off only 20 percent of the light they had when you first bought the car. It can also be a bad bulb, or a wiring issue. We can't help with your eyes, but we CAN help with your headlights!
Today's funny bumper sticker: "When I was a kid...wait, I still do that." :) Have a safe Monday!
For #TBT, we start our series on the strangest (and ugliest) concept cars that never quite made it off the design table, starting with 1957's Aurora Safety Car. It was ahead of its time in terms of safety features - padded dash, collapsing steering column and roll cage - but was too weird-looking and too expensive to appeal to consumers.
DID YOU KNOW that 17% of Americans have never opened the hood of their car? A safety tip - learn how to "pop" the hood of your vehicle, and know the basics of what is under there, and what it does. We can help you with that!
For #TBT we travel back to the fun and dangerous world of kids traveling in cars before 1985, when child safety seats became mandatory. Before that, we sat, stood or laid down in the back window, back seat, floor board or parent's lap. How did we survive that!
Hate potholes? So does your car! Avoid them when you can to help prevent suspension damage. If you have to go through a pothole, remember to slow down and brake BEFORE you get to it, then straighten your steering wheel and slowly drive through it.
Today's funny bumper sticker: "My biological clock is wheezing." :) Have a safe Monday!
Smile - it's FRIDAY! :) Have a great weekend!
The term "crank it up" had an entirely different meaning in 1903, as we #TBT back to the invention of the electric car starter. Before that, it took major muscles and several minutes to get your motor running (even well into the 1920's!) On the horizon? Voice activated car starters.
Do you have a survival kit in your car, or in your kid's car? You NEVER know what might happen, regardless of weather conditions, so be prepared. The kit should include a gallon of water, non-perishable food, jumper cables, flashlight and extra batteries, battery powered or hand-cranked NOAA radio, first aid kit, extra medications that you are currently taking, an extra cell phone (inexpensive flip phone will do), emergency blanket and some extra cash. If you never need it, great. If you do need it, now you have it!
