Know what all these lights mean? That's okay, we do! "Maint Reqd" means it is time to change your oil - and the word "required" is not by accident. Yep, it really IS time! And never drive any distance with the yellow check engine light on. That is your vehicle telling you, "Hey, I need a little help here!"
It's officially fall today! Just about nothing better than sitting outside by the fire pit! 🎃 What is your favorite fall activity?
A cracked head gasket is serious and you’ll fork out a couple of thousand dollars to have it repaired. There are four specific things that contribute to a cracked or blown head gasket and some of these things are unavoidable. This is why older cars often suffer from blown head gaskets. As head gaskets age, they can no longer withstand the engine combustion. Accurate Auto can help if you believe your head gasket has blown. If it has, here are four things that might have contributed to its demise. ACCURATEAUTO.COM 4 Things That Contribute to a Cracked Head Gasket
Today is World Gratitude Day 💟 What are you grateful for? We are grateful for each & every one of you!
Today's funny bumper sticker: "When life closes a door, just open it again. It's a door. That's how they work." :) Have a safe Monday!

Make it an amazing day!
"Check out this beauty with fancy painted sides, comfy padded seats, stylish gas lamps and a blazing top speed of 30 mph!" - and so went the sales pitch at the Winton Motor Carriage Company, as we TBT back to 1890's Cleveland and the first auto dealership in the U.S. When shopping for a car, would you rather buy online or work with a salesperson, in person?
Hmmm....
Thin, white vapor coming out of your exhaust pipe? Great, that is normal condensation. Blue, gray, black or thick white smoke? That is your engine telling you that something isn't quite right. The rule of thumb is that the thicker and more discolored the exhaust, the greater the concern. Don't take chances - let us help you with that!
Play along.....WRONG answers only. What is this slot for?
Which one are you choosing?
Today's funny bumper sticker: "Sure, I'm smart. Sesame Street smart." :) Have a safe Monday!

Do not be alarmed, as we steal a trip back to 1913 via #TBT and the invention of the first car alarm (by a former Denver prison inmate, ironically enough). The alarm required manual setting and would emit "siren-like calls for help" when a would-be-thief attempted tried to start the engine. Has anyone tried to break into your car?
So true.
Today's thoughtful bumper sticker: "Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death." :) Have a great Monday!

For #TBT we open the door (with a remote and from the lazy comfort of our cars) to the invention of the first electronic garage door opener, in 1926. (Yes, it was clunky, funky and loud.) Have you ever been stuck in your garage (or outside of it) because the door was stuck because the opener did not work?
A reminder that adding oil is not the same as changing your oil, which is one of the most overlooked services ("I can go another 10,000 miles!") that, when performed at the manufacturer's required intervals, will help you get your vehicle to the high mileage club.
Today's funny bumper sticker: "A pair of jumper cables walks into a bar. The bartender says, 'I'll serve you, but don't start anything!'" :) Have a safe Monday!

The term "crank it up" had an entirely different meaning in 1903, as we #TBT back to the invention of the electric car starter. Before that, it took major muscles and several minutes to get your motor running (even well into the 1920's!) On the horizon? Voice activated car starters.
Do you have a survival kit in your car, or in your kid's car? You NEVER know what might happen, regardless of weather conditions, so be prepared. The kit should include a gallon of water, non-perishable food, jumper cables, flashlight and extra batteries, battery powered or hand-cranked NOAA radio, first aid kit, extra medications that you are currently taking, an extra cell phone (inexpensive flip phone will do), emergency blanket and some extra cash. If you never need it, great. If you do need it, now you have it!
