You will notice CHS senior baseball players banners lining Main Street starting today through July 4th. The parents of these talented athletes contacted us and asked that if they purchased the banners, if the city would display them for a period of time.
This class was on the 2017 state championship team, 1 game from winning it last year and ranked #1 in the state and expected to be state champs this year.
In light of what COVID-19 has taken away from these seniors, we thought it would be appropriate to honor these parents request. These boys missed out on their season and quite possibly a state championship. While we can’t give them their season back, we want them to know we celebrate them!
Twelve of the 15 seniors are attending college on a baseball scholarship. We are very proud of all of them and can’t wait to see them swinging the bat again in college! What a fantastic group of athletes!! Way to go guys! You’ll always be our champions! Your hometown celebrates you all!
