Active Integrated Medical Center gives residents of Downingtown, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area access to two reputable chiropractors: Dr. Joseph Childs, DC, DACNB and Dr. Charles Durr, DC. They have nearly four decades of combined experience.
Together, these practitioners see patients of all ages and activity levels. They understand the diverse needs of an aging population as well as the physical demands athletes place on their bodies and their desire to prevent injury and enhance performance. The Active Integrated Medical Center team has addressed the ever-growing issues of ADD, ADHD, and autism, helping families assist their children using natural methods.
In September 1999, these two practitioners combined their skills and resources to establish Corrective Chiropractic in Downingtown, where they focused on postural and spinal correction using primarily chiropractic biophysics. As the practice grew, they broadened their skills to offer services outside of chiropractic biophysics, such as Brain-Based Therapy: A treatment centering around the brain as the focus of all aspects of health and well-being.
Both chiropractors have a strong educational background and are active members of well-respected chiropractic organizations, such as the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association. Dr. Childs earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, Georgia in 1997 and completed additional training related to various areas of interest, including childhood neurological development and brain injury treatment.
Dr. Durr also possesses a Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University. He started his chiropractic career in an office associated with a fitness center. Throughout the years, he has enhanced his knowledge base through courses related to the neurological and digestive systems and has earned certifications in decompression therapy and other areas of chiropractic care.
