Cheryl and Tammy, our friendly front desk and patient care coordinators, are the first smiling faces you’ll see when you visit our office. To complement our modern facilities, our knowledgeable visual testing team work with the most advanced and reliable technologies to best assess the health of your eyes. Our optical team consists of Bonnie and Genia. Our clinic technicians are Wendy and Karie. Next you’ll meet one of our doctors. They will complete the exam by inspecting your eyes, discussing eye care options and answer any questions you may have. Our experienced doctor and staff offer comprehensive vision examinations, and are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of eye diseases, conditions, and medical problems. In our mission to provide the best eye care services possible, Dr. Goodwin uses the most advanced, state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and eye care products available. In our office, you will find eye care professionals who genuinely care about our patients health, and are dedicated to providing exceptional personal service to everyone who walks through our door. Advanced Eyecare is hiring an Optometric Technician. The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Doctor and provide customer service to patients by performing all preliminary patient work-up and necessary special testing, sales of helpful or necessary optical goods, and training new contact lens patients on care, insertion, and removal of contact lenses. The technician may also perform related work as directed, as well as cross training throughout all departments. Responsibilities The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this position, but is not limited to these points. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed here if such functions are a logical assignment to the position. Acts as a bridge between the patient and doctor Fosters a strong partnership between the retail environment and professional services. Maintain a professional and supportive relationship with the doctor. Answer phones; direct calls to appropriate individual/department. Sell solutions, contact lenses, specials, etc. Schedule appointments, confirm all patient appointments, and greet patients entering doctor's office. Enter new patient history and personal information in system. Complete pre-test; obtain brief medical history, complete noncontact tonometry, auto refraction, visual acuity, etc. Perform advanced testing as necessary Instruct patients on wearing schedule, and insertion and removal of contacts. Maintain patient charts; update as necessary Maintain inventory; replenish as necessary. Maintain quality control standards; ensure total patient satisfaction. Assist Management Team with patient complaint resolution and inform the status of all jobs; ensure all patient expectations are met. Qualifications High school diploma required. Customer Service Experience. Dependability Experience in the medical field preferred but not required. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to spend most of the day on your feet. Flexibility/ability to work any open office hours. Ability and drive to thrive in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities. Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently. Eligibility to work in the United States.
