Please come alone to your appointment and if you must be accompanied by another person, we ask that you limit that to only one other individual.
In addition, if you are experiencing cough or fever or you are in need of any type of chest x-ray you will be required to wear mask and gloves during your time at the center. These will be provided to you when you arrive.

Did you know high breast density is common?
In the U.S., 40-50% of women ages 40-74 have dense breasts. The greater the density, the greater the risk of masking cancer on a mammogram.
Automated Breast Ultrasound is a new exam coming to AMI that can supplement a mammogram for women with dense breast tissue.
In 1934, Rose Marie Pegues, RN, became the first African American radiologic technologist. Already a nurse, Rose trained at St. Mary’s School in St. Louis, MO, became the first African American registered to take x-rays and went on to have a 41 year career in radiology. While it took many more years and the breaking down of restrictions, Rose’s trail-blazing achievement led to the opening of more training for African American students and broadened the areas of the medical field in which they could train and work.
