We noticed a large increase on requests for breast pumps in this period of time and we are so thankful for your business. That said, we would like to dedicate a post to the matter of COVID-19 and pregnancy. Down below are listed some useful information coming directly from the CDC.
- How can I protect my self in pregnancy?
Pregnant women should take the same precautions to avoid COVID-19 infection as other people.
- If I am diagnosed with the virus during pregnancy is the unborn at risk?
The pregnancy should still continue until the due date, making sure that oxygen levels are monitored together with all the main symptoms (ex. fever)
- Can the virus pass from a woman to a new born?
There are no clear answers in the matter but according to the World Health Organization every human is at risk.
- If I am diagnosed with COVID-19 can I still breast feed?
As long as you don’t have high fever, you should still breast feed using a breast pump and sanitizing all items before they reach the new born.

“Social Distancing is not Enough to Stop the Coronavirus!“
The virus is spreading rapidly through the population, most likely by people who are not yet symptomatic. Make sure you follow the everyday rules that the CDC instated to make sure we can stop the virus as soon as possible.
See them summarize below:
-Avoid contact with sick people (no matter what they have, germs are germs and they may make your system more vulnerable to the virus)
- ALWAYS cover your cough (not with your hands)
- Avoid touching nose and mouth (those canals are doors to our health)
- Clean and disinfect often, especially what is coming from outside (mail, grocery, deliveries, etc...even your shoes)
- Wash your hands often and sanitize when you can
- Last but not least STAY HOME! and STAY SAFE

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic we are temporarily closing our CPAP department in the Ann Arbor location. Please advise that our Fowlerville CPAP department is still open and available to respond to anything you may need. We are striving to keep both our employees and patients safe and taken care of.

Effective immediately, Advanced Medical Solutions is now accepting straight Medicare as primary for Oxygen, CPAP machines and CPAP supplies!
Also, on Wednesday, 10/27/2020, we received notification from Medicare regarding the next term of competitive bid areas and determinations. We are very happy to announce, that Medicare has decided to discontinue the competitive bid for most items for the next term. Beginning in January of 2021, the only items covered under terms of the competitive bid will be OTS Braces.
This means that there will be no Competitive Bid restrictions for the next three years on all the other product categories previously included in the Competitive Bid program such as Wheelchairs, Hospital Beds, Walkers, CPAP, ect.
With these new changes Advanced Medical Solutions should now be able to service the majority of all DME needs!
