Board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Andrew Khoury, MD specializes in anesthesiology and interventional pain management. He is the founder of Advanced Spine and Pain Specialists in the Woodlands, Texas, and has a passion for treating various chronic pain conditions. Dr. Khoury has extensive experience in minimally invasive techniques to treat pain at the source, including kyphoplasty, dorsal root ganglion and dorsal column spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, intrathecal pump therapy and indirect lumbar decompression for spinal stenosis. Dr. Khoury also utilizes his skill set as an anesthesiologist to implement a robust ketamine infusion protocol for intractable pain conditions. With multiple publications of his own research and several years of volunteer work, Dr. Khoury has worked alongside peers in his field with patients to help them achieve a high quality of life.
Dr. Khoury began his many years of education at the University of Houston where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. He stayed in the city of Houston to complete his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston followed by a general surgery internship at Baylor College of Medicine. In 2015, he moved to Galveston, Texas to complete his anesthesiology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He subsequently joined the prestigious Pain Medicine group at the University of Florida to complete a multidisciplinary pain fellowship, focusing on advanced interventional and minimally invasive techniques to treat complex pain conditions.
Today, Dr. Khoury holds memberships with many esteemed societies and associations of his peers, including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, Texas Pain Society, the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists and the Texas Medical Association. Through these, he stays abreast of the latest advancements and treatments in the field of pain management.
When Dr. Khoury isn’t at the office educating patients and helping them choose the best treatments, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, working out, skiing and traveling.
