We all grew up with finger paints, crayons, and worlds created with our own imagination. While some of us still like to create art, many of us do not. Life just seems to get in the way. And while art and creating may not be a staple in our lives, what if we told you it could be a catalyst to healing and growing? What if art could again give you that rush of joy? Bringing out that kid that lived inside you can help you heal, and we are here to guide you through it. Visit our website to learn more about our art therapy services. #arttherapy #arttherpist #psychology
Remember: setting limits 🙅‍♀️ is also a way of practicing self-care! Also, boundaries help build healthy relationships based on good communication. #mentalhealth #selfcare
We understand #BLM is not a trend, it’s an ongoing fight and we stand with you. On our staff and in our work, we are mindful of the roles that power and privilege play. It is important to us that we remain aware of our biases and acknowledge our blind spots. We take responsibility for educating ourselves, and we are humble about what we have yet to learn.
#Arttherapy helps children, adolescents, and adults explore their emotions, improve self-esteem, manage addictions, relieve stress, improve symptoms of #anxiety, #PTSD, #depression, and chronic illnesses among many other benefits. Remember that art therapy is designed to help you explore your feelings, perceptions and reactions to the world around you, not your artistic techniques! So don’t worry about not having any previous artistic knowledge! Visit our #linkinbio for more information on this amazing therapy option. 🎨

You have a “Type A” personality and you accomplish a lot. But sometimes you have difficulty truly enjoying those #accomplishments. As soon as you reach a goal, you’re off to conquer the next challenge because relaxing is a waste of time—doing nothing elicits feelings of guilt or waste from you. You’ve got things to do and you’re in a hurry to get them done. Not only do you not have time to stop and smell the roses, you don’t see what doing so would accomplish. Taking a break to do something fun doesn’t help you accomplish your #goals and it might give someone who doesn’t take a break an advantage over you that allows them to win. #typeapersonality #therapy #psychology #enjoylife #psychologyfacts
It is courageous to acknowledge you want to change your life – #pandemic or not. We believe you have the power and ability to make this change happen! The impact of #breastcancer is not only physical. Research has shown that breast cancer and its treatment methods, such as mastectomy, on patients, include adverse effects on mental health, particularly mood disorders (depression, anxiety, and anger), hopelessness, and changes in body esteem. It’s breast cancer awareness month and we want to bring attention to this side of the illness that people don’t talk about. Remember that we understand and we are here for you. #breastcancerawareness #breastcancerawarenessmonth #emotionalsupport
We live in a society that really challenges us when it comes to body image and eating. You may feel like you’re only worthy of #love and success if you look a certain way. Even if you come to some acceptance of your #body, you may struggle to figure out what’s right for you to eat. Moreover, you might feel like you’re the only one who faces this challenge. Especially in the age of #socialmedia, it can easily look like everyone else is getting life right. You might feel totally alone, however eating disorders are unfortunately very common. You very much are not alone. You can get help. More importantly, you deserve to feel comfortable in your own body!
Couples fight. However, when it gets past a certain point, you find yourself in a truly distressed relationship. A #relationship in distress is one where problems are persistent and serious, conflict is common, and one or both people are suffering. Your relationship may be in distress if you: -Are locked in a pattern of breaking up and getting back together -Argue frequently -Frequently considering or threatening separation or divorce -Regret ever getting into the relationship Distressed relationships are dangerous. You’re not just risking the wellbeing of the relationship itself. You’re risking your individual wellbeing. Couples enduring this kind of regular conflict are at greater risk of mental health issues (including depression and anxiety) as well as physical health issues such as migraines and high blood pressure. #couplegoals #couplestherapy #psychology #emotional #therapy #relationships #relationshipadvice #toxicrelationships #wellness #wellbeing
Being creative can increase positive emotions, lessen depressive symptoms, reduce stress, decrease anxiety, and even improve immune system functioning. However, if you feel like you are not a creative person, remember that anyone can be! Here are some ways you can explore your creativity: -Make time for creativity: Schedule some time each week to concentrate on some type of creative project. -Overcome a negative attitude: remind yourself that mistakes are simply part of the process. -Look for inspiration: Look for new sources of inspiration that will give you fresh ideas -Keep a journal: Start keeping a journal to follow your creative process and track the ideas you produce.
