Tuesday Tip of the Day: Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are essential devices that keep you safe. Now is the perfect time to replace the batteries with new ones. Push the test button on each device to ensure it's working properly. Did you know every 10 years your smoke alarm device should be replaced? If you are unsure of the last time it was replaced, check the date it was manufactured which is found on the back of the device.

It’s a gloomy and rainy day! If high humidity is a problem you can't overcome by other methods, remove moisture from the air with either a whole house dehumidifier or ones for individual rooms. They're effective in laundry rooms, basements, bathrooms and any room that isn't air-conditioned or has poor air circulation. Give us call if you have any questions or want more information!

Here's a helpful reminder; make sure you haven’t closed any vents in your home. In an attempt to save money on heating and cooling costs, some homeowners close the vents in rooms they don’t use often. This action will increase your energy costs because your system will have to work harder to maintain the comfort levels in your home. We recommend that you never block vent registers with furniture, books, blankets, or other objects.
