Would you want someone with little to no experiencing “practicing” on your very expensive HVAC system? Probably about as much as you’d want a med student performing heart surgery! That’s why we believe it is critical that we train our new and junior technicians in a different, more progressive manner and with less risk to you, the customer and your valuable equipment. With that belief in mind, we have invested in *virtual reality* training for our team of up-and-coming, high-value technicians. We believe in utilizing technology as a resource to better prepare our workforce for any exposure they may encounter in the field. These courses allow the technician to become completely immersed in a 3 dimensional environment to troubleshoot and repair all HVAC components. The best part is that these courses were designed with manufacture specific specifications, which means the machines in the programs are most likely the exact same machines you have installed at your residential, commercial or industrial property.
Virtual reality training for our junior technicians helps them get “hands on” to troubleshoot and diagnose a system. This accelerates their learning experience and help them become proficient technicians quicker!

Troup County School System September 16 at 7:39 PM · All TCSS schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, September 17th, due to possible severe weather from the Hurricane Sally weather system. This evening, the Georgia Emergency Management Agency noted weather conditions may drastically change overnight into the day tomorrow; there is a call for higher conditions of rain, wind, power outages, and potential flooding. TCSS is not requiring a virtual learning day tomorrow because we cannot guarantee our families will have power for use of computer technology. Please note, the major impact of the storm is expected to bring wind gusts up to 39 mph along with 5-9 inches of rain throughout the county. TCSS school buses cannot operate safely in winds exceeding 35 mph. THIS INCLUDES AFTERNOON SPORTS ACTIVITIES. Please be prepared for intermittent downpours, downed trees, and downed power lines. We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available. Thank you for your support of the TCSS as we strive to keep our students, staff, and families safe.

We’re not against masks, but we ARE against your filter(s) looking like this! Your HVAC starves for air and operates very inefficiently when you have a dirty filter!
Pro Tip: When the outside air is cold (below 40° F) and has a high (above 60%) relative humidity, water vapor from the air collects on your heat pump’s cold coils and freezes. But the makers of your heat pump knew this freezing would happen. That’s why it was built with a defrost mode. Every 90 minutes or so, your heat pump should kick into defrost mode to melt the ice and keep your heat pump running efficiently. So a little bit of frost is fine. It should disappear after awhile. But too much ice can be a problem... How to tell if there’s too much ice We recommend that you call a heat pump repair company (like us) if: *There’s so much ice on the heat pump that it’s blocking airflow into the heat pump (like the right photo, below) *The frost stays on your heat pump for longer than 2 hours *These are likely signs that something is wrong with your heat pump’s defrost mode. You want to get that fixed ASAP, or your home could be relying on just your backup heat source, which is expensive…
💪Pro Tip: Auxiliary Heat is the second stage of heat that your thermostat runs on when the temperature is too cold for your heat pump to extract heat from the outside. Auxiliary Heat is typically triggered when it is 35°F and below outside 🥶. Today, for example, your heat pump system may intermittently run in auxiliary heat mode, and that is okay! If you notice your auxiliary heat running excessively when its warmer outside, you may have an issue that warrants having a technician take a look 🕵️‍♀️.
