I am a pediatric oncologist and a specialist in bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. I treat children and young adults with cancers originating in the bone marrow, such as leukemia, and related precancerous conditions, such as myelodysplastic syndromes. I also treat other diseases that damage the bone marrow and lead to diminished production of blood cells, including bone marrow failure syndromes and immune deficiencies. I have developed expertise in curing infections that arise after bone marrow transplantation by using passive infusion of immune T cells that target viral antigens.
