“When a patient enters the room, it should be all about her,” Dr. Siddiqui says about making women feel at ease. “Women tend to be nervous when they see their gynecologist. I’m very conscientious of that. My goal is to first make patients feel comfortable so they have no hesitations about discussing anything. We talk about their issues and their options, devise a plan together, and make sure all their questions have been addressed before they leave.”
Dr. Siddiqui feels grateful to have the opportunity to care for women throughout their lifetime. As a physician trained in robotic-assisted surgery, Dr. Siddiqui is uniquely able to manage more complicated procedures such as complex hysterectomies and endometriosis with minimally invasive surgery. “The beauty of robotic surgery is that patients spend less time in the hospital, and recover more quickly and get back to their daily routine,” she says.
Prior to coming to Indiana, Dr. Siddiqui worked with the University of Maryland where she served as the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department Chair and Medical Director of the Labor & Delivery Unit. She was also the lead physician in creating an obstetrics and gynecology practice in Maryland. She moved to Indiana to be closer to family. “Women’s health is my passion and I consider myself lucky that I have found what I am meant to do.”
