Alex Hayden was so talented, very fun to work with, passionate about architectural photography and so young. I am speechless and sad to learn that he was the cyclist that was struck and killed on Rainier Ave last Saturday. A hit and run. If you knew Alex and are interested in supporting his wife Susan and two children, a gofundme page has been created in his memory.

I love these wildlife crossings! Last year, I was on a committee and learned that Interstate 90 just completed an underpass and that Highway 97 in eastern WA has three camouflaged arches planned with these goals: providing safety for both animals and humans, Reducing collisions & Increasing wildlife's access to their natural habitats.... The environmental impact these wildlife bridges will have in our state is amazing!

In April, we made August reservations to dine with out of town friends at the iconic Space Needle...And in September it's facelift begins. I guess we'll have to return when the work is done to see the impact of all the new glazing. This article described verbally and visually the vision for it's future - wow!

Weinstein A & U was featured in the Seattle Times on Sunday for their design work on the Canton Lofts Apartments which will be located in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. These units will be regular no frill apartments conceived to meet the needs of the middle class with rents ranging somewhere from $1,300 to $2,000. The two primary investors are targeting this critical need in our city & it's a nice change! Right now 92% of apartments are designed for the luxury sector.

For anyone visiting New York City this summer, don't miss MOMA's major exhibition celebrating Frank Lloyd Wright. If he were alive today he would be 150! Hoping to have a chance to visit & see the hand-drawn drawings, physical models and the Imperial Hotel design that was in Japan....
