Albion and UNG - University of North Georgia celebrated the grand opening of the new Observatory Building Friday night, with a moonlit ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new Observatory is a 3,200 GSF single-level structure which will accommodate modern observational equipment with sufficient instructional areas to meet the academic, research, and public outreach needs for UNG. After the ribbon-cutting, additional tours of the new Observatory were given and festive space themed snacks such as Moon Pies and star shaped cookies were provided - all while Elton John’s Rocket Man played in the background! We were honored to be UNG’s contractor for the new Observatory and we can’t wait to see what exciting discoveries come from it!
We have multiple reasons to celebrate here at Albion today! First, we’d like to wish one of our project managers, Jennifer De La Rosa, a very happy early birthday! Also, today is the official ribbon cutting at our UNG - University of North Georgia Observatory project and we’re breaking ground at our new South Walton Community Center project! Happy Friday!
