Meet Joe Alexander! Joe is our Main Street Board Treasurer and owner of Alexander Insurance Agency.
Joe is an Elizabethton native and married his high school sweetheart, Debbie, 43 years ago! Joe started working under his dad at Alexander Insurance Agency in 1975 and became the owner in 1984.
Downtown Elizabethton has always had a special place in Joe’s heart. “Some of my fondest memories as a small child are walking hand-in-hand with my mom from our family home on North Main Street, across the Broad Street Bridge, and up Riverside Drive to Elk Avenue. We would visit my dad’s insurance office in the Lynnwood Hotel Annex and move up the street to my grandfather’s dental office (Joe Bowers) which was located on the second floor in the Ritz Building. Although our Downtown has changed and had its ups and downs over the years, it’s still a great place to call home. I’m proud to be a part of Main Street and a witness to Downtown Elizabethton’s continued resurgence!”
