Douglas Maxey, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician who has been practicing since 2013. At Allay Spine and Pain Management in McKinney, Texas, he provides compassionate, conscientious care to eliminate or reduce patients’ pain.

Dr. Maxey offers a full array of therapies, including spinal cord stimulation, to manage or eliminate conditions such as back pain, joint pain, neck pain, sciatica, arthritis, and complex regional pain syndrome. The team recognizes that every patient has different needs and prides themselves in the courteous service they deliver to each person who walks through the door.
With expertise in several interventional procedures, Dr. Maxey was one of the first physicians in Dallas–Fort Worth to be trained on dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation. He is also one of the few providers in the area who employs advanced neuromodulation techniques like targeted drug delivery and peripheral nerve stimulation. Dr. Maxey has given numerous presentations and has been published in a peer-reviewed journal.
Dr. Maxey is a member of the Texas Healthcare Advisory Council and the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, as well as the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Spine Intervention Society, Texas Medical Association, and Texas Pain Society. Additionally, Dr. Maxey has mentored students aspiring to be health care professionals in the Frisco Independent School District.
When he isn’t working, Dr. Maxey enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and son. His home state is Colorado, and he is an avid skier. His other interests are reading, traveling, swimming, and playing the guitar.
