Natick Center Cultural District

As more restaurants in Natick Center are permitted to have outdoor dining, the Public Art Committee - a part of the Natick Center Cultural District, received a generous grant from the Lawrence & Lillian Solomon Foundation and the Barr Foundation to incorporate art into this new venture. It was decided to cover the steel barricades with pictures of public art found in and around the downtown area. The first banner on the steel barricades is now up on Washington Street, in front of Dahmee Restaurant. It features Carol Krentzman and Amy Robinson Steinmetz's Smiling Faces mosaic as well as some of the painted electric boxes around Natick Center.
Carol Krentzman also installed two mosaic artworks on the concrete blocks that mark off the outdoor dining area of a "Mandala" in lighter pastel colors representing "Day" and a dark-toned "Tree of Life" design representing "Night". We hope this provides diners a fun, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy meals from their favorite restaurants.
Thank you, also, to Alltype Digital Graphics for printing the banners.
