From the beginning of the pandemic, our top priorities have been the safety and wellbeing of residents and staff as well as compliance. As the COVID-19 crisis has evolved, we have kept pace with frequently changing regulations, updates to Shelter in Place orders across jurisdictions, and now the plans for a phased reopening of the economy that may vary by county. We want to take this opportunity to share with you the work that has been done on this effort to combat COVID-19. Please click the link below for our latest COVID-19 update. Elder Care Alliance September 21 at 11:54 PM · Every 3 seconds, someone in the world develops dementia. The number of people living with dementia around the world is over 50 million, which is expected to almost double every 20 years, reaching 152 million by 2050. Elder Care Alliance’s innovative and engagement-focused memory care program is based on the I’m Still Here™ philosophy. This evidence-based approach is founded on the belief that every person in need of memory support, dementia care, or Alzheimer’s care is fully capable of experiencing a high quality of life, regardless of the severity of memory loss. We are missing hugs with our loved ones so bad right now. But, we are thankful for window visits to keep us close still at AlmaVia of San Francisco. Rita Heiser had the biggest smile on her face when her daughter Holly came by for a window visit. We are set up at AVSF to schedule window visits or assist with virtual family visits via Zoom, FaceTime, or your preferred method to keep our residents connected to their family and friends. We are all in this TOGETHER! #SeniorLiving #Family #TogetherApart #ECAStrong #SeniorCare #SFSeniors #SanFrancisco #ElderCare #ElderCareAlliance

This year’s World Mental Health Day comes at a time when our daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The past months have brought many challenges: for health-care workers, providing care in difficult circumstances, going to work fearful of bringing COVID-19 home with them; for students, adapting to taking classes from home, with little contact with teachers and friends, and anxious about their futures; for workers whose livelihoods are threatened; for the vast number of people caught in poverty or in fragile humanitarian settings with extremely limited protection from COVID-19; and for people with mental health conditions, many experiencing even greater social isolation than before. And this is to say nothing of managing the grief of losing a loved one, sometimes without being able to say goodbye. Please take today and examine how your mental health is. Take some time for yourself, meditate, explore nature, or to just be good to yourself. These times are hard, but we're all in this TOGETHER! #ECAStrong

Jocelyne, one of our residents here at AlmaVia of San Francisco, led a Balancing Your Chakras workshop! She taught us about the seven chakras and helped everyone balance theirs. 🧘‍♀️ We love giving our residents a platform to share their knowledge and expertise with others. It's a testament to our core values being an Elder Care Alliance community. Part of our vision is partnering to create communities where people are empowered, engaged, and have a voice and a vocation.
