Direct Access Care at Alton Physical Therapy, PC – Alton Physical Therapy is open and ready to treat you. Take advantage of “direct access” care during this time. Illinois is a “direct access” state, meaning no physician’s order is required for you to have a physical therapy evaluation. If you are suffering from a musculoskeletal condition that causes functional movement limitations, physical therapy may be for you. A visit to your local physical therapist is a safe place to start on the road to recovery. Starting directly at Alton Physical Therapy allows you to start on treatment right away with very little risk of further injury. Physical therapy is a low-cost value-packed healthcare service. To get started, call your insurance company and ask “is a physician’s order required for physical therapy coverage?” If not, call and schedule an appointment today. Your physical therapist will evaluate you and set up an individualized treatment regime. If your symptoms improve, it is a win for you. You will be referred to your primary healthcare provider if your symptoms do not improve within 10 visits or 15 business days, or if your physical therapist feels your condition is beyond their scope of care. Questions? Call 618-462-1133.

Over 100 years ago, physical therapy was born. Thanks to those before us, we’ve been able to offer care and support to those in need. If you like history, this is worth the read. American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) January 1 at 7:00 AM · As we begin a new year full of hope and opportunity, we also honor our centennial year as the professional association for the physical therapy profession. 100 years ago, our organization was founded by people who by nature were driven to answer the call during times of need. This is the core of who we are and what we do as PTs, PTAs, and students. Throughout 2021, we will honor our history, acknowledge our present, and look to our future with ambition and innovation. Learn more about APTA’s centennial celebrations at centennial.apta.org. #APTA100
