The Altoona Arthritis & Osteoporosis Center has been in our community for 39 years! We are seeking a full or part-time Medical Assistant to join our multiple physician practice.
Daily job duties:
• Rooming patients/obtaining vital signs
• Patient care responsibilities as assigned and phlebotomy
• Documenting in EMR
• Provide basic patient care as ordered by physician and assist physician with various procedures
• Answer telephones promptly and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Clean and stock exam rooms
The individual considered for this position must have a cooperative attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors and physicians. They must have the ability to promote a favorable facility image with physicians, patients, hospitals, other physician offices and to the general public.
Requirements:
• Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• CMA, CST preferred, or equivalent experience, current state license or national certification preferred.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant program preferred or equivalent hospital program or minimum of one year of direct patient care experience.
