Doctor Amber Chu received her B.S. degree in Chemistry from College of Creative Study in the University of California Santa Barbara. The program is tailored to gifted students and selects only 5 students per year to receive graduate level instruction as undergraduates. She won the prestigious Randolf Wolf Research Award for organic chemistry research and graduated with Dean’s Honor. Initially planning to become a chemist, Dr. Chu realized that she enjoys working with people on a daily basis.
Therefore she changed her career path to Dentistry to satisfy her love for science and taking care of people. She received her DDS from NYU College of Dentistry in 2002. She practiced general dentistry for 6 years prior to entering Endodontic residency at the University of Southern California where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Chu has been invited to present in numerous professional meetings for her
research on irrigation patterns of Sodium Hypochloride and other endodontic topics. Dr. Amber Chu is known for her ability to calm anxious patients. Being needle phobic herself, she perfected the technique of painless injection and developed a chair side manner that comforts the most fearful patients. She is currently serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston.
In her free time she enjoys yoga, running, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
