It was May of 2015 when Wish Kid Jackson was surprised with his backyard playset - a massive pirate ship tailored to all of his special requests, including a look-out tower!
Most importantly, it provided the shade he needed, due to medical flare ups caused by the sun.
Thanks to American Eagle Fireplace & Playsets, and Make-A-Wish, Jackson's wish day was unforgettable - for Jackson, his younger sister, his parents and the dozens of family, neighbors and media partners there to witness the reveal.
Four years later, Jackson's mom sent us this video - Jackson crossing the Finish Line at his first 5K race. He is just 7-years-old. 👏🎉
She had this to say about his wish and how it resulted in ultimate healing for her son:
"It is so important for a child going through a difficult medical situation to be given wonderful memories to combat or even outweigh the bad ones. It’s ultimately healing mentally and physically. Make-A-Wish gives that to these kids and their families - a wish gives strength (as you can see with my son!)."
