What is a MRI? The MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machine is a large cylinder-shaped tube surrounded by a circular magnet, our facility offers an Open MRI. The preference for an Open MRI is related to claustrophobia, size and weight of the patient or issues related to patient comfort, and our highly trained staff is also here to to make the MRI experience a least stressful as possible.
American Imaging Center uses the 1.5T MRI systems because the 1.5T MRI are the field strength of choice these days in the United States—due in part to well-established protocols, imaging sequences and flexibility in applications and patient accommodation. With the Philips Ingenia 3.0T, the first digital broadband MR scanner.Our Extremity MRI is performed using the GE Optima MR430, it produces high quality images and enables patients to be more relaxed and comfortable. The Extremity MRI is capable of imaging the knee, foot, ankle, elbow, hand and wrist. The primary indication for a prostate MRI is the evaluation of prostate cancer. Breast MRI is usually performed for one of 3 reasons: to identify early breast cancer in women, to determine the extent of breast cancer that has already been diagnosed, or (least often) to determine whether an artificial breast implant in one or both breasts is intact.
