About Bob Olson
Twelve years ago, Bob Olson, State General Agent in Illinois and Indiana, went from owning a home remodeling sales company to building his own business with American Income Life Insurance Company.
And it has been a very rewarding experience for him. If he had it to do over, would Bob do anything different? “I’d have started when I was 18 years old.”
In 2000, he was the #4 Master General Agent in the Company and the following year was the #1 Regional General Agent.
Bob joined AIL because of the leads and the opportunity for advancement and knows he made the right choice. “When I had the opportunity to open my first office in northwest Indiana under Scott Smith, it was basically opening my own office, with my own opportunity, with no overhead, and a great support system with the Home Office. Because I have been with American Income Life for 12 years now and as an SGA for seven, I have seen firsthand what our products do for our customers. Most people do not realize the importance of life insurance until a loved one has to use it. I have also seen how the food banks we sponsor and the premium waivers we offer during layoffs and strikes help our clients. AIL is like no other company out there.”
Bob’s Agency is a shining example for every Agency and individual associated with AIL. “About three years ago we started something pretty special in our Agency. We call it the ‘Charity Bonus’. Every month at our month-end meeting, we give our #1 Agent of the Month a $500 check made out to his or her favorite charity. At the meeting, the Agent spends 10-15 minutes educating the entire Agency about the charity. A few of the charities we’ve helped are St. Jude’s Hospital, Children’s Memorial Hospital, and the Chicago Anti-Hunger Association.
Golf, fishing, and coaching his youngest daughter’s softball team are some of Bob’s favorite free-time activities.
