About Slav Bitman
“Begin with the end in mind. Believe in the systems being taught. Set up a plan, create a mission, have a passion for the mission and submission to the system.” That’s the advice Slav Bitman, State General Agent in North Carolina, offers to someone considering a career with American Income Life Insurance Company. It’s great advice, because it definitely worked for Slav.
A member of the American Income Life family for 15 years, Slav has been a top Supervising Agent, among the top five General Agents, and a top Master General Agent. In 2001, he broke an all-time AIL record, and has been the top State General Agent in his category. He has promoted six SGAs and is a former Executive Council member.
Slav worked multiple jobs before he found his niche at AIL. Recalls Slav, “My best friend had joined American Income Life, and I saw an opportunity to make a tremendous living owning my own business and using someone else’s systems to do it.” He knew he had come to the right place from the beginning. “I pulled up to the AIL office in Kansas City in 1997 as a 23-year-old kid and heard the State General Agent deliver a Monday-morning meeting about the opportunity with this Company. He promised to teach me what he knew to get to his position. When the meeting was over, he got into his Lamborghini Diablo and drove off.”
Slav is sold on the value of AIL products. He says, “Insurance people are the last people anyone wants to talk to, but the first people they call when something happens, sometimes even before their family. I’ve looked people in the eyes as I’ve delivered claim checks. It’s hard enough to go through a devastating loss. At least we can help take some of the financial hardship out of it.”
“Growing people … taking someone and teaching them the system and helping them grow as a leader; watching them become financially successful, and making a difference in other people’s lives” has been the most rewarding part of American Income Life for Slav.
If he could start over, would he do anything differently? “I would submit to the systems much faster than I did,” says Slav. “The systems work. AIL has been successful for a reason. Follow the model and you will be successful.”
When not promoting ‘Opportunity Unlimited,’ Slav enjoys mixed martial arts. He also supports charitable organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund and organizations that support the families of fallen police officers.
