As the executive medical director of Americans for Better Health (ABH), Derrick Myers, MD, commits his time to serving the Pasadena, California, community. Dr. Myers is a family medicine practitioner and developmental disability specialist with a passion for improving access to care.
Dr. Myers established ABH to fill the demand for quality care, especially for underserved populations such as geriatric patients, those with developmental disabilities, and patients with psychiatric conditions. During the years he served in the hospital emergency room, Dr. Myers noticed the shortcomings in primary care for these populations, which forced them to resort to emergency room visits.
At ABH, patients receive the ongoing care they need, even if that means making a house call or providing video-chat appointments.
ABH offers a full range of services for families and underserved populations, such as:
Chronic disease management
Home visits
Telemedicine
Family planning
Urgent care
Alzheimer’s treatment
Annual physicals
The attentive staff and team of telemedicine providers make quality medicine accessible to all ABH patients. Their passion lies in improving outcomes and preventing simple predicaments from turning into ER visits with effective treatment and accessibility.
