Amy Miller is a physical therapist at the University of Vermont Medical Center who specializes in aquatic physical therapy, balance training and falls prevention, neurologic rehabilitation, pain management and orthopedic issues.
Amy’s research interests lie in the standardization of best practices for using aquatic physical therapy to utilize the properties of water to assist people with knee osteoarthritis and incorporating water-based exercise in return to work efforts.
Amy uses her physical therapy knowledge to develop relationships with people to understand what is most important to them and help them reach their goals. She believes physical therapy is a team effort between the practitioner and the patient and the warm water enables freedom to experience movement that may have not been possible on land due to pain, anxiety, weakness, or debility.
