The aim of Amy Green Design is to design carefully thought out spaces that are not only better for the environment but also improve quality of life for users of the spaces. We achieve that through thoughtfully listening to our clients, developing a relationship with them and true understanding of their needs, feasibility studies, renderings, green material selections, detailed drawings, and helping our clients navigate the complex building permit and construction processes in NYC and other areas across the globe.
Leadership
Founder, Amy Green, is NYC's former LEED + Green Development Coordinator and recognized as a USGBC Green Home Expert. She's spoken at events such as SustainableNY and BuildingsNY. Amy has over a decade and a half of experience in both commercial and residential projects.
Project Typologies
Projects can be as small as a kitchen and bath remodel or as large as a new ground up building with many occupants. Our favorite projects to work on are residential projects because they are so personal. They provide an opportunity to design spaces where people can relax, connect, entertain, rejuvenate, inspire, and grow.
Architectural Services
Buildings account for almost 40 percent of national CO2 emissions and out-consume both the industrial and transportation sectors. Fortunately, we have solutions as green buildings help lower CO2 emissions, consume less energy, less water, help divert waste from landfills, and are less toxic to our health and environment than non-green buildings. Green building is an affordable solution, typically adding 4% or less additional upfront cost while providing savings as much as 10% in the first year alone on green retrofits and 20% lower annual maintenance costs for new LEED buildings.
Green buildings have also been found to increase sales in retail spaces, foster more creative work environments, create healthier homes for families, and increase test scores of students at green schools. Interior Design Services
People spend 90% of their time indoors, so we at amy green design respond to that by creating interior spaces that inspire, encourage comfort, collaboration and create environments which support the health and well being of users through the use of eco-luxury design. We provide stand-alone interior design services for projects or we can provide interior design services in addition to architectural services. We also specialize in helping support other interior designers as the architect and green building experts on their projects. We work on both residential and commercial projects and offer several signature services featured below in addition to standard interior design services.
