After 20 years of practicing in the current medical model, I have decided to strike out on my own so I can practice medicine in a way that feels right to me at Andrea Lee OB/GYN. Specifically, I am committed to spending time with my patients and caring for all aspects of their wellness — not just the physical but the emotional and social. I will be providing integrative gynecology care, obstetrics consultations, and group visits. I will be seeing women in Chicago and the surrounding communities of Evanston and Lincolnwood.
Group visits will be a big part of my practice. Group visits allow me to address all parts of health — physical, mental, and social. The group visit will gather women who present to the office with similar concerns such as menopause, obesity in pregnancy, sexual health, and anxiety/insomnia. The women will meet with me for eight sessions for an hour and a half to learn, share, and participate in healing.
I am also committed to helping women navigate the overwhelming medical world of OB. I have worked closely with midwives for many years and also have worked in a large hospital. Over time, I have become more and more convinced that women and babies are best served when we honor the natural process of birth and limit intervention as much as possible. Consultations will help a pregnant woman or a woman planning to become pregnant, take charge of her pregnancy care and birth experience, and assist her in navigating the current medical system so that her needs and wishes for her own birth experience are honored.
