This is a timely reminder that “Freedom” is complete misnomer as it is anything but free. Whether it be storming a beach at Normandy, refusing to give up a bus seat to a white man, participating in the Stonewall Uprising, throwing tea into Boston Harbor or peacefully protesting so that the words “I can’t breath” never have to be uttered again, the freedoms we enjoy as Americans were not free to obtain, are not free to maintain, and are not free to apply to ALL persons regardless of color, race, religion, sexual preference, gender or national origin- but the ‘costs’ pale in comparison to the incalculable costs of losing any of these freedoms, and are the best expenditures any of us will ever make! Red hats and division won’t make America great- it is up to each and every one of us to KEEP America great with how we chose to treat each other every day.
