Dr. Andrew Savage attended the University of Pennsylvania and returned home to Charleston where he graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) as a member of AOA. Following medical residency and chief residency at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, he completed fellowship training in pediatric cardiology at MUSC. He completed an additional year of training in pediatric heart failure and transplant as well as adult congenital heart disease. In 2006, he was invited to be the medical director of the Pediatric Heart Failure and Transplant Program at MUSC and was promoted to associate professor in 2016., , Dr. Savage is highly respected in his specialty as an educator, researcher, administrator, and clinician. He has had the privilege of educating students and physicians in training and lecturing at many national and international cardiology meetings. He is the primary investigator on various national research trials and has numerous publications. He is also the director of ambulatory care for the MUSC Children’s Hospital leading a recent project to open a 100,000 square foot ambulatory center in North Charleston., , He is a member of multiple national and international committees.
