A Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Andrew de Fazio is a Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude graduate of Holy Cross College in Massachusetts. He received his Doctorate in Medicine from SUNY Stonybrook and completed his Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. He then completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery under Dr. Ceana Nezhat at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
While he worked with Dr. Nezhat, Dr. Andrew de Fazio co-authored several chapters in textbooks on advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic techniques. He co-authored several research papers on advanced laparoscopic surgery, pelvic pain and endometriosis that were accepted for publication in various, reputable, American medical journals. He also produced several instructional videos on various aspects of laparoscopic surgery, one of which was awarded first place at the 2004 Film Festival of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology.Dr. Andrew de Fazio is an Attending Physician at the New-York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. de Fazio is closely involved with the supervision and education of residents and medical students. He received the Chief Residents Teaching Award in 2012. He was also selected to serve as a member of the hospital’s Quality Assurance Committee.
