Andy Smith has been in private practice since 2009, and I have about a decade of work in human services with different populations and cultures. Through this time I worked with a wide variety of clients. However, early in my studies I started asking why so many people struggled in therapy or did not want to go. Specifically men have struggled in therapy with experiences of feeling inadequate or out of place, so I began to ask why and what would make this large group of people more comfortable and therapy more natural.
Through this search I began to find techniques that appeal to more types of people. Some of these styles are more active, natural, or every day, but they are designed to meet my clients where they are and connect in ways that you communicate already.
