I’m starting to see some patients in the office again... 🩺
Many genetic evaluations can be done via telemedicine, but for some indications (such as Marfan syndrome or other hereditary connective tissue disorders) a good physical exam is so important!
I have tried virtual assessments of joint laxity, skin consistency, feet flatness, and uvulas (to name a few) and let me tell you - it’s just not the same.
There is definitely still a role for in-person patient visits (even in genetics) and I have to say, I enjoy them so much more than the virtual encounters! Despite the N95 mask! 😷
For now though, I will continue to see most of my patients on the screen 👩💻 because COVID is not over and still a threat! 🦠
