While at the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of California, Irvine, he was awarded the Amgen Fellowship for translation cancer research. There, he was actively involved in both basic science and clinical research. He has served as a co-investigator in multiple clinical trials and has authored/co-authored peer reviewed articles and abstracts. He authored one of the earliest Phase I clinical trials examining the effects of Resveratrol and grape powder on colorectal cancer patients further stimulating his interest in integrative oncology. Dr. Nguyen joined Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada in 2007. He currently serves on the editorial advisory board for multiple journals including: Oncology & Biotech News, Onc Live, and Contemporary Oncology.
Dr. Nguyen was recognized as Top Doctor in the Medical Oncology category by Las Vegas Life and Vegas Seven magazine. He was named Medical Marvel by Nevada Business Magazine and was named Top 40 Under 40 by Vegas, Inc.
