Antonio K. Coirin, MD serves the community of Modesto, California, with a medical practice that provides general and bariatric surgery using cutting-edge technology. Dr. Coirin believes in medically-supervised weight loss, and provides his patients with support and education about the vital role of maintaining a healthy weight in order to prevent chronic disease.
Dr. Coirin has more than 30 years of general surgical experience, during which time he’s led the way with robotic surgery using the da Vinci® Surgical System. He uses minimally-invasive, robot-assisted surgery to perform diverse types of procedures, including hernia repair and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, as well as gallbladder and colorectal surgery.
Dr. Coirin is passionate about educating the community on the importance of maintaining a healthy weight. In his practice, he offers bariatric surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System, but always approaches weight loss with an emphasis on lifestyle management and medical support, such as hCG injections.
Dr. Coirin began his medical career at the University of California Davis School of Medicine. After graduating with his medical degree, he completed an internship at Mount Zion Medical Center University of California, then did his residency at San Joaquin General Hospital. He’s board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is an active member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
