Iowa Select Farms has donated more than 100 pork loins to KFMG in support of the Fund Drive. Mike Wedeking, long-time KFMG supporter and volunteer, and owner of The Flying Mango has smoked these lovely loins, and is coordinating pickup THIS MONDAY, August 31st, from 4-7 p.m. at 4401 Hickman Road in Des Moines. That’s the former Gas Station across the street just west of the Mango. These loins average 4 and a half pounds, and the price is a $40 donation to KFMG. You may, of course, donate MORE than $40, if you wish. 🙂These loins are smoked, and refrigerated, and ready to heat and eat. If you wish to purchase more than one loin, they’ll freeze for future use. As many as you wish will be available, as long as they last. Payment is ONLY by cash, or by a check made out to KFMG. More information will be available on the Flying Mango Facebook page starting on Sunday morning, August 30th.

This weekend’s snow certainly brought winter back to Central Iowa…and maybe getting us more into the Christmas spirit. But the mild fall weather we had all the way up to last week’s 60-degree temperatures had us in good spirits, too, knocking down our backlog significantly going into spring. We got this @timbertech deck done just in time to get the Christmas lights back up! And...Santa’s sleigh might still have room for some outdoor living spaces to put under your tree for spring…or earlier.
