〜 Allow the stops to dry completely
〜 Cut foam tape to fit the top, bottom and sides of the stops

If ice does build up on your roof, only use products or methods that will not damage the shingle in the process.
We recommend using a steamer for large ice dams. We do not recommend power washing your roof or using a hammer or sharp tool to chisel ice.

Did you know that the lower the humidity outside, the lower the humidity inside should be? This is because ideally you want a balance of humidity for your health, but also so that your windows don't form condensation 💦
In the winter, your humidity should be set to about 40% while in other months, anywhere between 50-60% is normal.

Do you know when ice is safe to walk on?
As a general rule of thumb, ice is safe to walk on when there is 4 or more inches of clear ice. However, it is important to understand the different types of ice varying in their strength.
❄️ Clear blue or black ice is the strongest. This ice is formed from the lake water freezing.
❄️ White opaque ice is weaker and is often formed from snow falling on the ice surface, partially melting, and then freezing.
❄️ Gray ice is even weaker and is formed as it starts to break down.
❄️ White and gray mottled ice is the weakest and will typically be found on a lake late in the season, not long before the ice completely melts.
Follow the old saying, "thick and blue, tried and true, white and crispy, way too risky."

Our top tips to shovel snow safely:
❄️ Warm up. Warm your muscles before heading out to shovel by doing some light movements, such as bending side to side or walking in place.
❄️ Push rather than lift. Pushing the snow with the shovel instead of lifting can help reduce the strain on your body. When lifting snow, bend your knees and use your legs when possible.
❄️ Choose your shovel wisely. Ergonomically-designed shovels can help reduce the amount of bending you have to do.
❄️ Lighten your load. Consider using a lighter-weight plastic shovel instead of a metal one to help decrease the weight being lifted.
❄️ Keep up with snowfall. Try to shovel snow shortly after it falls, when it is lighter and fluffier. The longer snow stays on the ground, the wetter it can become. Wet snow is heavier and harder to move.

There are two different types of chimney fires:
🔥 Free Burning: These are the fires that sound like you have your own freight train or roaring airplane in your chimney. The blaze is loud and unmistakable. Oftentimes dramatic flames or billowing smoke may lap out of your chimney top.
