Dr. David Ray is a double board certified and fellowship trained Interventional pain medicine physician. Dr. Ray believes all patients deserve to tell their story, to be educated on the source of their pain, and given viable options to live as pain free as possible.
Dr. Ray studied medicine at The Autonoma University in Guadalajara, Mexico. There he had the opportunity to work in state of the art hospitals and numerous small red cross clinics throughout rural Mexico. During this time he became proficient in conversational and medical Spanish, and developed a love for the Mexican culture, food and music. Dr. Ray completed an Anesthesia Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts; where he excelled and became Chief Resident during his final year of residency. After completing his residency, Dr. Ray returned to the Southwest and practiced Anesthesia for 10 years in Albuquerque, NM. During this time, Dr. Ray became more focused on the importance of Pain Medicine, when 3 close family members were suffering from debilitating pain conditions. In 2015, Dr. Ray completed an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of New Mexico. He then successfully practiced pain medicine for 5 years in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Ray had been listed as one of several recognized doctors in the fields of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, several times for Top Doctors, The Albuquerque Magazine.
Dr. Ray is married and has two children. He enjoys playing and coaching tennis, fly fishing, and playing classical Spanish guitar.
