William Armstrong, MD, is a highly versatile urologist providing personalized, evidence-based urologic care and treatment of all male and female adult urologic conditions. At Armstrong Urology in Tyler, Texas, Dr. Armstrong specializes in minimally invasive surgical treatment of the enlarged prostate (BPH, benign prostatic hyperplasia), utilizing Greenlight™ laser therapy and in-office procedures such as UroLift®. Dr. Armstrong received specialized training in minimally invasive robotic surgery using the daVinci® Surgical System while completing his training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and is pleased to offer minimally invasive treatment options for most genitourinary cancers.
Dr. Armstrong completed his bachelor’s degree at Tulane University in New Orleans and his master’s degree at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. He then attended medical school, earning his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Armstrong went on to serve his internship and residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his urology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Armstrong incorporates data-driven management options with specific patient factors to develop standard-of-care treatment strategies that seek to optimize patient outcomes. He uses industry-leading products and techniques, including UroLift®, Greenlight™ laser therapy, the AMS AdVance™ sling, the Upsylon™ Y-Mesh, and the daVinci® Surgical System, among others.
